Online Form: Water System Hot Tap Request
DESCRIPTION:
This request is required for any project involving a new connection to the City’s water main. This includes, but is not limited to, new construction projects and upgrades to existing water meters and/or service lines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Allow a minimum of three (3) business days for processing.
- Submit the completed application to the Engineering Department under Road Closure, Application #2.
- Hot taps will only be scheduled and performed between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
- The existing service line must be abandoned if it is undersized or otherwise inadequate for current needs.
PROCESS:
- The request will be reviewed by the Water Department.
- The Water Department will coordinate with the Requestor, General Contractor, and/or Tapping Contractor to confirm the schedule and procedures for the hot tap.
