Online Form: Water System Hot Tap Request

DESCRIPTION:

This request is required for any project involving a new connection to the City’s water main. This includes, but is not limited to, new construction projects and upgrades to existing water meters and/or service lines.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Allow a minimum of three (3) business days for processing.
  2. Submit the completed application to the Engineering Department under Road Closure, Application #2.
  3. Hot taps will only be scheduled and performed between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
  4. The existing service line must be abandoned if it is undersized or otherwise inadequate for current needs.

PROCESS:

  • The request will be reviewed by the Water Department.
  • The Water Department will coordinate with the Requestor, General Contractor, and/or Tapping Contractor to confirm the schedule and procedures for the hot tap.
