The Re-create 248 study team recently presented at the Dec. 6, 2024, Park City Council special work session to discuss key aspects of the project, including: (Click on the links to get more details.)

• Purpose and Need Statements: defining SR-248’s transportation challenges and the study’s objectives  

• Measures of Effectiveness metrics to evaluate potential transit solutions 

• Range of Alternatives: transit options considered in the initial review 

• Purpose and Need Screening Results: alternatives recommended for further study based on alignment with Purpose and Need 

The council supported the Purpose and Need statements, Measures of Effectiveness, and Range of Alternatives. They recommended advancing five alternatives for more detailed analysis (Level 1 screening) to understand their impacts and benefits better. 

1. Dedicated bus lanes
2. Light rail 
3. Reversible flex lanes for transit 
4. Automated guideway transit 
5. Rail Trail transit alignment
