On January 19, 2023, PEG Companies withdrew their application for the Park City Mountain (PCM) Base Development and released the following statement:

“We have decided to withdraw our application to amend the 1998 Park City Mountain Resort Development Agreement to further support the ongoing review of the vital information coming from the results of the paid and reservation parking program underway this winter at Park City Mountain. The engagement we have had with Park City staff, community stakeholders and neighbors, and Planning Commission on this project has been productive and has resulted in many positive changes to the plans we proposed for the site. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with Park City Mountain on the next steps for this important project.”

Thank you to the Planning Commissioners, Planning team, Park City residents and businesses, and the applicant for engaging in a thorough land use process. A lot of time and effort went into this project, and many important discussions held about the future of the Park City Mountain base area. On February 13, 2020, PEG Companies submitted an application to the Planning Department to amend the previously approved 1998 Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) Development Agreement, and to replace Exhibit D of the Agreement, the PCMR Base Area Master Plan Study, with a new Base Area Lot Redevelopment Master Plan Study.

Planning Commission Review

The Planning Commission began their review of this project at the regularly scheduled August 26, 2020 meeting.  The Planning Department has broken the topics up for specific Planning Commission meeting dates. These meetings are viewable from the City’s main webpage under Current Public Meeting Listen Live, click on the "In Process" link once the meeting has started.

On July 8, 2020 Planning Commission's determined that the submittal meets the definition of a substantive modification as defined under LMC § 15-6-4(I), MPD Modifications. A summary of the determination and the Planning Commission's intent to focus on a specific scope of review can be found here.
