• Construction will occur from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
• Intermittent sidewalk closures. At least one sidewalk will remain open during the road closure. Any closure or pedestrian detours will be signed appropriately, and businesses will be notified in advance.
• Intermittent water shut-offs. Properties will be notified at least 48 hours in advance.
• Construction Sequencing:
  • Crews will first install water mainline from the beginning to the end of the project phase.
  • Once the mainline is complete, they will return to tie-in individual water service and fire lines. Whereas the mainline installation can appear to be a quick process, the individual tie-ins are more detailed and time intensive.
• Construction equipment and other supplies will be stored securely on the shoulders of Main Street at night.
• Noise from machinery.
• Crews will need access into businesses periodically.

This section of Main Street (Heber Avenue to 5th Street) will be closed to vehicles during construction hours. The road will reopen to at least one lane of vehicle travel in the evenings and on the weekends.

• Parking will be removed from the construction area April 1-July 1. To offset the negative impacts of the closures to businesses, parking will be free in China Bridge throughout the project
• To help with vehicle circulation (map below):
  • 5th Street (near the post office) will switch to one-way travel heading east from Main Street towards Swede Alley.
  • 4th Street will switch to one-way travel heading west from Swede Alley towards Main Street.
• Trolley service on Main Street will be adjusted with an alternate route during construction hours and open as normal at night.
• Deliveries will be allowed throughout the Main Street closure.
• All crosswalks will remain open.
• Access for emergency vehicles will remain in place.
