2024 Legislative Tracking
The 2024 Legislative Session began January 16, 2024, and runs through March 1, 2024. Monitoring the State’s legislative activities requires constant commitment throughout the 45-day annual Session.
Mayor Worel, and Councilmember Tana Toly are the official council liaisons for the 2024 Legislative Session. Matt Dias, City Manager, Margaret Plane, City Attorney, and Michelle Downard, Resident Advocate are the primary team of city staff for legislative tracking and receive support from the Chief Building Official, Chief of Police, Public Utility Manager, and others. In addition, Park City has one primary State lobbyist and a secondary lobbyist as necessary and maintains active participation and leadership roles in the Utah League of Cities and Towns, Utah City Manager Association, and the Utah Chiefs of Police Association.
Park City adopts a Legislative Platform annually to establish a broad policy framework under which professional staff and PCMC elected officials lobby, support/oppose public policy initiatives, and protect Park City’s independence and community interests.
