Park City and Summit County have jointly contributed $1 million and $130,000, respectively, to make childcare more affordable for families residing or working in Park City or Summit County. Scholarships are awarded based on need to Park City resident and workforce households with qualifying income and childcare expenses for children up to kindergarten eligibility age. Eligible expenses will be covered through a combination of family contributions and tuition scholarships, which will be paid directly to participating providers.

Park City and Summit County have partnered with Upwards to manage the Childcare Needs-Based Scholarship program. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are two types of assistance available for families who live or work within the boundaries of Summit County: resident or workforce. Park City Municipal employees are also eligible for a scholarship, regardless of where they live or where their children receive care.
