A look ahead for Park City Municipal  

 

This Week in City Council 

The City Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, May 14 at 3:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda has one item: 

Interviews with Bonanza Park 5-Acre Site RFP Finalists 
Serving as the selection committee to obtain a development partner on the Bonanza 5-Acre Site, the City Council will interview the top two RFP respondents in a public meeting. View agenda item here.  

 

The City Council meets for their regular meeting on Thursday, May 15 at 4:25 p.m. in Council Chambers. Agenda highlights include: 

Budget and Fees Discussion 

In preparation for the FY26 City Manager’s Recommend Budget, the Budget team will present various adjustments to fees within the FY26 Fee Schedule. Council will review and discuss the proposed changes. View agenda item here. 

 

Changes to Land Use Appeal Authority 

Council will consider the final recommendations from the Planning Commission to revise Park City’s land use appeal authority structure. Council will conduct a public hearing and consider approving an ordinance authorizing these changes. View Agenda item here.  

 

Historic Preservation Award and Proclamation 

The winner of this year’s Cindy Matsumoto Historic Preservation Award will be named, and Council will consider a resolution proclaiming May Historic Preservation Month in Park City. View proclamation here

 

Pride Month Proclamation  

Council will consider a resolution proclaiming June 2025 as Pride Month in Park City. Members will also review a request by Summit Pride to support Pride Month activations. View agenda item here. 

 

1800 Park Avenue Project Discussion 

Council will hold a discussion on the proposed development at the current site of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel (formerly “The Yarrow”) at 1800 Park Avenue. View background document here

 

This Week in Planning Commission  

The Planning Commission meets Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. The meeting will feature the swearing-in of Commissioners Bill Johnson and Grant Tilson and the election of a new Chair. Other agenda highlights include: 

 

Bonanza Park Code Amendments Hearing and Continuation 

Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed amendments to the code for the Bonanza Park area, but discussion and action will be continued to June 11.  

 

Moderate Income Housing Plan Update 

The Housing team will present recommended amendments to the 2022 Moderate-Income Housing Plan which serves as the housing element of Park City’s General Plan. Commissioners will conduct a public hearing and consider forwarding a positive recommendation for the City Council’s consideration. Agenda item here.

Park City Residents: Register for a Bonanza Flat Locals Parking Permit 

Starting June 2, paid parking will be in effect at Bonanza Flat area trailheads. As valued contributors to its preservation, Park City residents - living within Park City Municipal boundaries - can access free parking by registering for the Bonanza Flat Locals Parking Permit. Additionally, by midsummer, the Purple Transit Route will expand to serve all Bonanza Flat trailheads, providing another convenient option for access. Apply with proof of residency and learn more here. 

 

Request-a-Rack for Your Business Today 

Park City Municipal and Summit County have partnered up to make biking around the region even more convenient. The Request-a-Rack program provides free bike racks and installation for all businesses in Summit County. Since its creation, the program has installed bike racks in over 25 locations.
