Many volunteer opportunities take place during spring, summer, and fall. If you reached out in the winter or shoulder season, we appreciate your patience as we explore potential projects. From approximately April through November there are always things to do, in the past the Trails & Open Space team and volunteers have completed:
- Ecological restoration
- Revegetation of old trails for wildlife habitat
- Tree plantings and forest health work
- Pathway clean up
- Vegetation clearing along trails and paths
- Noxious weed pulling & control
- Barbed wire fence removal
- Fencing maintenance or install
- Community education events and socials
- Trail maintenance
- Trail building
- The list goes on...
Please note that some volunteer work involves strenuous physical activity in outdoor conditions that may include sun exposure, high elevation, and physical labor. We will do our best to communicate how to prepare for these scenarios. We also ask that you consider your ability and comfort levels with certain tasks prior to committing to a specific project.
