Old Town Business Permit (formerly Blue Square)

2019/2020 permits extended to June 30, 2021

The Old Town Business permit is available for purchase to businesses with a Main Street core area address. This permit allows for parking in the China Bridge parking structure and Gateway Garage upper level. Initially, one Old Town Business Permit will be available for purchase per Main Street business. After the initial purchasing phase, there will be an opportunity to purchase additional permits for those interested. Please note that a valid business license is required to purchase an Old Town Business Permit. This permit is transferable and allows for parking during all hours including weekends . This permit is not valid during major events. The cost of this permit is $400. If lost or stolen you may purchase a replacement for $200.

Residential Permits

2019/2020 permits extended to June 30, 2021

The Residential Permit program helps preserve parking availability for residents and provide traffic calming during peak times. Residential Permits are available to any resident within the established Residential Permit Zone. If you are not sure if you reside in a residential permit zone you can find that on our residential zone map.

You will require a Business Application for Residential Parking Permit if you are a business operating in a residential permit zone for purposes such as property maintenance, landscaping, plumbing, etc.

 

Carpool Permit

2019/2020 permits extended to June 30, 2021

Employee Carpool permits are available for employees of businesses in Old Town and allows free parking in the China Bridge Parking Garage located on Swede Alley.

Applicants MUST be an employee of a business with a Main Street area address. Carpools must be established with 2 or more applicants, meaning that 2 or more employees must plan to carpool in order to utilize the permit. The Carpool permit allows parking at all hours, including after 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The permit is NOT valid during major events including the Sundance Film Festival and Kimball Arts Festival. Alternative parking locations may be provided. This permit is NOT transferable and re-assignable by business owner.

If fraudulent use is detected, carpool permit privilege will be revoked without exception. If a carpool permit is used by a single individual to park, all permits within the carpool will be deactivated without the ability to renew. Applicants agree with all terms of use associated with the Carpool permit.

DLS (Drop, Load, and Staging) Permit

The DLS program resumed November 20, 2020. Program details here.

2019/2020 DLS permit holders will receive a one year only COVID-19 relief renewal discount of $100. If a DLS permit has been purchased in 2019/2020, you may renew your permit for $100. New applicants must pay the full $200 annual price  

Please note that a valid for hire/ground transportation business license is required to purchase a DLS Permit, or if you are a Transportation Network Company, please bring proof of your contract with your company in lieu of a business license.

If you drive for Uber/Lyft, please click here for required documentation. This permit is transferable and allows for access to DLS Zones after 5:00 p.m., 7 days/week. Park City Municipal reserves the right to suspend the program during Special Events or unforeseen circumstances. In the event the DLS program is suspended for one month or longer due to COVID-19 related developments, pro-rated refunds for DLS permits will be issued upon request. Old Town Employee Monthly Parking Permit

Old Town employees with a Main Street area business address may apply for a monthly paid permit for $30 per month. This permit allows for parking all hours (except where signed otherwise) in the China Bridge parking structure. This permit is non-transferrable and quantities are limited with a first-come first-served basis.

Payments for this permit are automatically charged to the account you create until it is cancelled by the account holder.

Old Town Employee Homestake Parking

Employees planning to park in the Homestake parking lot will be required to register their vehicles. Unregistered vehicles may be ticketed. Parking at the Homestake Lot will be restricted from 4:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. for snow removal during winter months. Parking availability may be subject to change during special events.

Special Use Permit

A permit to occupy public parking spaces may be issued for certain uses such as construction, moving, long-term loading/unloading after delivery hours. The application fee is $20 plus a fee per occupied space (22-feet). Click here to download the permit. Once you've filled out the application please bring it into the Public Works building for approval. We are located at 1053 Iron Horse Drive. For more information, please call 435-615-5301.

Upon conditional approval, the fee to occupy one space in each of the following areas is:

  • Main Street Pay-and-Display $16/day
  • Swede Alley Time-Limited $12/day
  • Special Event - Approved Use $50/day
  • Marsac Lots Long Term $20/month
  • Residential Permit Zones $20/month
