Park City Ice Arena utilizes the Learn to Skate USA curriculum. Please register for your Learn to Skate USA membership at www.learntoskateusa.com. Bring us a copy of your membership number so we can add you to our program!

Refunds and credits may be issued for cancellations more than 5 days before the start of a program. Leniency will be given to cancellations associated to COVID-19.

Skaters at least 4 years of age and of all levels are welcome as long as they have taken group skating classes, private lessons or skate regularly on their own and can skate comfortably without assistance. This camp has a recreational focus.
Fees: $45

Developmental Figure Skating Camp
Summer 2024 Dates -TBD
Hours: 9:30am - 12:30pm
This summer camp is designed for skaters who have completed at least Basic 3 or who have participated in the Figure Skating Club of Park City's ASPIRE program. Skaters should be comfortable working on forward and backward crossovers and beginning jumps and spins.
During the camp, skaters will be introduced to the different figure skating disciplines including: freestyle, ice dance, and synchronized skating.
Registration Fee: $250 per skater.
No refunds within 5 business days of the first day of class.
Camp includes: 2 on-ice classes and 1 off-ice class each day.
Park City HIgh Performance Camp

The Park City Ice Arena High Performance Summer Figure Skating camp is an intensive 5-days of on and off ice programming as well as freestyle time to get those new programs into shape for the season. Our staff of highly qualified coaches will help tailor a lesson schedule to meet each individual skater’s goals and financial needs. Included with camp fees: daily on and off ice classes, 2 freestyle sessions, and an exhibition opportunity. An add-on option for advanced skaters is also available for an additional fee and includes: an off-ice lecture, an additional freestyle session and a power skating class.
As this is an intensive training camp, there is minimum level to participate. Skaters must be able to successfully perform a scratch spins and be working on a loop jump. Questions about level can be directed to the Skating Director.

Basic Hockey Skating 1 & 2 (4+ yrs)
Basic Hockey Skating 1 & 2:
The focus and goal of the Basic Hockey Skating 1 & 2 curriculum/classes are designed to teach beginner hockey players ages 4-12 years old the fundamentals of hockey skating. Age and skill appropriate drills will be used to teach the players how to become comfortable on the ice, learn the basic hockey stance, strides, knee bends and the use of their edges. *Skaters will be required to be dressed in full hockey gear while on the ice.
Basic Hockey Skating 1 will focus on the following exercises and skill sets: marching, bending, sitting & standing tall; basic hockey stance, walking; agility, balance and coordination (ABC’s); marching with 2-foot glides and lateral movements; using inside edges and t-push with 2-foot glides; forward strides/skating; snowplow stop. **Skaters must successfully complete/pass Basic Hockey Skating 1 in order to proceed forward to Basic Hockey Skating 2.
Basic Hockey Skating 2 will focus on the following exercises and skill sets: backward gliding & walking; inside & outside edges, forward c-cuts, backward c-cuts; hockey stops; cross-overs; puck handling & passing and shooting. **Skaters must successfully complete/pass Basic Hockey Skating 2 in order to proceed forward to Learn to Play Hockey 1.

All Hockey Academy classes include six (6) on ice lessons. Skate rental is included. Full hockey equipment is required and may be available to rent, the fee is $15 for the entire session. Please schedule the equipment fitting with the Hockey Academy Coordinator, timothy.francis@parkcity.org, 7 days in advance of the class start date. Students will receive a public skate code to use for six (6) public skate sessions with skate rental. The code expires after 6 uses or one week after the last day of class.
Learn to Play Hockey (5-12 yrs)
Learn to Play Hockey 1 & 2:
The focus and goal of the Learn to Play Hockey 1 & 2 curriculum/classes are designed to teach beginner hockey players ages 4-12 years old the basic skills required to play the game of hockey, develop an understanding of basic teamwork, having fun, creating/refining basic motor skills and being introduced to the concepts of cooperation and fair play. *Skaters will be required to be dressed in full hockey gear and utilize a hockey stick while on the ice.
Learn to Play Hockey 1 will focus on agility, balance and coordination (ABC’s) through fun, station-based practices and game play. Skaters will learn the fundamentals of hockey (i.e. basic hocky stance, how to hold a stick, move with a puck and basic passing and shooting skills). Skaters will continue to become comfortable on the ice by reinforcing exercises and skill sets previously acquired in Basic Hockey Skating 1 & 2. **Skaters must successfully complete/pass Learn to Play Hockey 1 in order to proceed forward to Learn to Play Hockey II.
Learn to Play Hockey 2 is for skaters who have successfully demonstrated the basic skating and hockey skills within Learn to Play Hockey 1. This class will focus on additional skills practice and new skill acquisitions, consisting of multiple practice stations. The latter part of the program/class will focus on sectioned and/or cross-ice game play. **Skaters who have successfully completed/passed Learn to Play Hockey II can re-enroll in Learn to Play Hockey II or proceed on to a youth hockey organization (i.e Park City Ice Miners) for more in-depth skill sets and game play.

This program is for skaters ages 7 through adult who are very comfortable on skates. Participants must be able to complete the skills associated with our Basic 4 class of Skating Academy. Our speedskating class is not for beginner skaters.
Skaters will learn the fundamentals and proper techniques for speed skating.
