Leadership 101 - The Power of Leadership in our Community
Friday, February 7: 9 AM - 4 PM (45 min lunch) | Blair Education Center | Agenda
Much of Park City’s trajectory has been shaped by leaders who came to Park City from elsewhere, oftentimes in search of a second chance, only to find themselves contributing to the direction of the community. We may not always know their names, but we experience their contributions and the power of their leadership, initiative, and impact.
Today, we’ll start with the story of several such local leaders who had a pervasive impact on the history of Park City. Their stories remind us that Park City is still a small community where one person can truly make a difference and affect all of our lives. Starting with those stories allows us to connect with our past.
We’ll then transition to discussions of the present. You’ll learn about the issues and opportunities facing Park City today from numerous community leaders working to shape what it means to live, work, and play here.
Our agenda will cover subjects lifted straight from the pages of our current events, from schools to traffic, housing to tourism, development to preservation, and much more.
Finally, we’ll look to the future as the community prepares for the 2034 Winter Olympics. We’ll hear from leaders whose gaze is firmly fixed on the horizon, as they start to lay the foundation for how our community will evolve to meet the future.
As you listen and digest, consider your opportunities to lean in, and how you might throw your hat into the arena on a complex community issue, challenge, or opportunity. How can you be a part of Park City’s progress?
