Wildfire

Fire has historically played a fundamental ecological role throughout Utah. However, the rising number of homes in the wildland-urban interface (WUI), associated impacts on lives and property from wildfire, and escalating costs of wildfire management have led to an urgent need for communities to become "fire-adapted."

Through our programs performed on open space we reduce wildland fire severity and risk in our community by managing vegetation with a focus on ecological health, wildlife habitat and wildland fire resilience.
