Park City Seeks Residents to Help Shape the City’s Future Land Use

Park City, Utah – Park City Municipal is calling on interested, engaged, and eligible residents to help shape their community by joining one of its four public boards with upcoming vacancies. Opportunities to serve include positions on the Planning Commission, Appeal Panel, Historic Preservation Board, and Board of Adjustment key groups that help guide municipal land use decisions.

“Park City relies on the dedication of our resident volunteers to help keep us heading in the right direction when it comes to land use,” said Mayor Nann Worel. “I deeply appreciate the time and effort people invest to ensure we continue to grow responsibly and remain a great place to live. These boards are an essential part of shaping our future.”

Board Responsibilities:

Planning Commission – Serves as a non-political and pivotal, long-range planning body for Park City including review and recommendation on the general plan, annexations, and Land Management Code amendments, and decisions on plats, conditional use permits, and master planned developments.

Appeal Panel – Hears and decides appeals on Planning Commission decisions.

Historic Preservation Board – Charged with preserving and encouraging historic preservation of Park City's mining heritage according to the Land Management Code.

Board of Adjustment – Hears and decides variances from the Land Management Code and appeals of Historic District Design Reviews.

Time commitments for each board vary, offering opportunities for residents to contribute based on their experience and availability. To learn more and apply, visit here.
