Park City Municipal Seeks Residents to Help ‘Shape Your City’
Candidates sought to fill several board vacancies including Planning Commission
Park City, Utah – Park City Municipal seeks interested and eligible residents to serve one of six boards and commissions that all play key roles in shaping the future of the City. Prospective candidates can apply for vacancies on the Planning Commission, Library Board, Public Art Advisory Board, Police Complaint Review Committee, Recreation Advisory Board, and the Board of Appeals via the City’s website here.
“I am always impressed that when we ask residents to step up and volunteer their time and knowledge to our boards and commissions, they always come through,” said Mayor Nann Worel. “These are exciting opportunities for residents to serve our community and I am looking forward to hearing from everyone.”
Open volunteer opportunities include:
Planning Commission (Application deadline May 15, 5:00 p.m.) – Serves as a non-political and pivotal, long-range planning body for Park City whose duties include general plan review, annexation review, appeals of staff decisions, termination of inactive applications, and sensitive land review. Library Board (Application deadline end of day April 30) – This advisory board establishes policies for the Library’s operation, assists in future planning, and advocates for the Library. More information here.
Police Complaint Review Committee (Application deadline May 1, 5:00 p.m.) – This advisory committee reviews complaints filed against police and provides its findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the Chief of Police. More information here.
Public Art Advisory Board (Application deadline May 1, 5:00 p.m.) – This board makes recommendations to the City Council regarding public art within Park City. More information here.
Recreation Advisory Board (Application deadline end of day April 29) – Members of this board serve as liaisons between the community and the Recreation Team on all matters involving parks, recreation, and beautification initiatives. More information here.
Board of Appeals (Application deadline end of day May 8) – This board hears appeals in matters of building codes. More information here.
