Park City Municipal Corporation Opens Application Window for Mid-term City Council Vacancy

PARK CITY, UTAH — Park City Municipal Corporation is seeking applications for the mid-term City Council seat that will be vacated by Park City Mayor-elect Andy Beerman when his resignation becomes effective December 27, 2017. The appointed City Councilmember will serve the remainder of Beerman’s term, which ends the first Monday of January 2020.

Park City residents interested in serving as a City Councilmember and who meet the eligibility and residency requirements below are invited to submit an application of interest to the City Council. Applications are now available and will be accepted beginning Wednesday, December 27, 2017, and must be received by NOON on Friday, January 5, 2018, by Michelle Kellogg, City Recorder, 445 Marsac Ave., P.O. Box 1480, Park City UT. Applications will be accepted in person at City Hall, by mail, or via email to

Applications are now available online at election-information, or in person at the Park City Recorder’s office located at City Hall (445 Marsac Ave, Park City), 3rd floor, Executive Office.

Park City Council Eligibility and Residency Requirements:

Candidates must:

  • Be a United States citizen at time of filing for candidacy.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a registered voter in Park City.
  • Reside within Park City Municipal limits during his/her term of office.
  • Have resided within Park City Municipal limits for at least 365 consecutive days or have been a resident of a recently annexed area of the City for at least 365 days.
  • Not be absent from Park City continuously for more than 60 days without the Council’s permission.

Park City Municipal will host an information session for interested applicants on Tuesday, December 19, 6-7 p.m. at the Park City Library Community Room (3rd Floor, 1255 Park Ave., Park City).

Park City Council will interview applicants at the January 11, 2018, City Council meeting, at City Hall (445 Marsac Avenue). Additional City Council meetings may be scheduled as necessary to ensure all applicants are interviewed. These meetings are open to the public.

The new Councilmember will be appointed by the City Council on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. The term will be effective immediately.
